... chamava o Panda Bear para dar um concerto aos meus amigos
Para quem encheu o piso de baixo do LUX Frágil no passado dia 12 de Fevereiro (encheu tanto que foi preciso marcar outra data, no dia seguinte) percebeu claramente que os derradeiros dias dos anos 90 (quando um tal de Noah Lennox lançou um disco "caseiro", que soava como uma lufada de ar fresco numa década marcada pela sujidade das guitarras e a transformação - quase instantânea - de músicos em messias) tinham terminado.
Noah Lennox cresceu, já todos sabemos. Este cidadão lisboeta e distinto benfiquista consegue encher uma sala com pessoas que o querem ver "brincar" com o seu arsenal de samplers e vozes deambulantes. O sucesso e aclamação de Person Pitch, de 2007, confirmou o génio na alma daquela discreta personagem e, não fosse ter contraído o matrimónio com uma designer de moda portuguesa, o que se aconteceu naquela sala foi o desfilar da nova coleção 2010 de Panda Bear.
Diferenças em relação a Person Pitch? Algumas, sim. Mudança radical? Não, os Animal Colective mudaram, ou melhor, reinventaram-se gradualmente e Panda também o faz da mesma maneira. O Pop-psicadélico (seja lá isso o que for), qual Brian Wilson, está ali. No meio daquela figura, onde ora os temas são imperceptíveis mas estupidamente reconfortantes, ora uma camada de ruídos que nos fazem sentir como é ter uma trip, está tudo isso: Pop!
"Daily Routine", tema dos Animal Colective, foi o único trecho que os fãs reconheceram, se bem que este tinha uma nova roupagem... de resto, só canções novas e muito boas.
"Tomboy" é o tesouro prometido por Panda Bear para 2010. Este, segundo o que se pôde ver/ouvir, tem mais guitarra e mais noise, mas a base ainda são os samples.
Resta saber se o efeito hipnotizador será o mesmo - pois ali havia todo um floreado de videos psicadélicos e frames de filmes -, mas dele, Panda Bear, só se pode esperar mesmo o melhor. Até porque os anos 90 já lá vão e ele deixou de ser o aprendiz... agora é o mestre.
...tirava a máscara, largava o Valentim e fazia a cama de lavado!
Entre o Domingo Gordo e a Terça de Entrudo existe a Segunda-feira que, para alguns, é de tolerância. Sem máscara ou serpentinas, mas com música e boa disposição, a faxina fez-se rapidamente em duas horas.
